When: Every Wednesday, Late April - Early October.
Start Times and Pairings: Tee times on Wednesdays after 12pm. There is a Closing Scramble with shotgun start. Morning tee times are available upon special request.
Weekly Fee & Prizes: $10 weekly fee is collected from all golfers. All money collected is returned to golfers in the form of cash prizes. Prizes are awarded for low gross, skins, team wins and on-course competitions such as closest to the pin, long drives, longest putt and closest to Old Tom Morris.
Team Component: The team concept is the focal point of the Wednesday Men’s League. Each member of the Men’s League is drafted to a specific team for the year. For the 2023 season we expect to have 8 teams. Each week, teams compete against each other for points. Points are awarded to teams based on scores and PARTICIPATION. Each week that you play, you automatically get one participation point for your team. The winning team each week shares in the above mentioned $10 weekly fee. You must play to be eligible for the team payout. All prize money is returned to golfers the following Wednesday.
Scoring: Scoring for the League is based on 9 holes. However, many golfers play 18 holes, especially during the long days of summer. The Front Nine and Back Nine holes are usually rotated. All scorecards must be returned to the Pro Shop before 8:30 pm. to ensure that all golfers are included in the weekly prize pool.
Daily scores can be viewed on TV in the lounge and scores can also be accessed on the internet. A summary of scores, skin winners and other prize winners is posted on the league web site no later than one day after the round. A weekly blog is also posted on the League Web Site every Thursday morning.
Handicaps: A special Men’s league handicap is calculated and used for all men’s league events. You are encouraged to also keep an official GAO handicap for other Tangle Creek events such as Club Championships and Match Play competitions.
Meals: After your round of golf, all members are encouraged to return to the patio or lounge to enjoy a meal, a beverage and some FUN.
Registration: This year we are limiting the number of golfers in the league to 150. We do this to ensure everyone can get a tee time each Wednesday. We expect a full complement of 150 golfers for the 2023 season so I strongly recommend that you contact Tangle Creek Pro Shop at 705-720-2150 to arrange payment of the Initiation Fee which will guarantee you a spot on the Men’s Night roster for the summer.
